The Carrousels of Los Angeles, California, (affectionately referred to as “COLA” by our members) are proud to introduce Carrousel Nedra E. Austin as one of their newest members, installed February 9, 2020, right before we went into lockdown due to COVID-19. Carrousel Sheila Hill was her sponsor.

Nedra is a native Angeleno, a graduate of the University of Southern California and Georgetown University Law Center. She has been legal counsel for numerous corporations including IHOP, Applebee’s (eventually Dine Brands) and currently Burlington Corporation, Inc. (formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory). Nedra is a former president of Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, Inc. and of the California Association of Black Lawyers, and is an active member of several national and local legal organizations. Apart from the professional arena, Nedra is an active member of the University of Southern California (USC) General Alumni Association and until recently served on the University’s Board of Governors. She is a former president of USC’s Black Alumni Association. Nedra is a member of several national philanthropic and social organizations as well.

Nedra is the ultimate event planner and is always ready for the party no matter where it is. She attended the first West Coast Carrousels get together in Las Vegas within 2 weeks after she was inducted, and the most recent ‘Carrousels on the Vineyard’ event this past summer. She looks forward to her first in-person Carrousel Convention this summer in Richmond.
