The Carrousels of Dayton, Ohio welcomed Mia Wortham Spells into the Sisterhood on Saturday, September 17, 2022. She was sponsored by Carrousel Denise Martin Cross.

Her 28 years of experience made her capable and ready to serve in the Dayton Municipal Court. Mia attended Wilberforce University and the University of Dayton Law School where she received a Bachelor of Science and in 1986 her Juris Doctorate.

She spent 22 years in private practice, 5 years as an Assistant Prosecutor, 2 years as a Law Clerk – Legal Aid Society, and 22 years as an Acting Judge for the City of Dayton.

She is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Dayton Bar Association, Ohio Black Judges Association, and the National Bar Association.

Mia is a widow with two adult children and she is the proud parent of a Dayton Police Officer. She enjoys traveling, cooking, and decorating.
